President Bola Tinubu has departed Nigeria for New York in the United States US to attend the 78th United Nations General Assembly UNGA expected to be held between today September 18 and 26, 2023 where he is expected to deliver his inaugural national statement on the floor of the UN headquarters tomorrow.
The theme for this year’s meeting is, Rebuilding Trust and Reigniting Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards Peace, Prosperity, Progress and Sustainability for All.
This would be Tinubu’s first UNGA meeting since he was sworn in as president in May and he is expected to hold bilateral meetings with various world leaders, including the President of the US, Joe Biden, and the President of the European Union Commission Von Der Leyen on the sidelines of the summit.
The presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale in a statement said his principal is also expected to meet with the global president of Microsoft Brad Smith as well as the Head of Global Affairs for Meta Technologies Nick Clegg.
