Tobi Amusan won her third consecutive Diamond League title after coming out tops in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Prefontaine Classic, Hayward Field, USA.

Amusan beat a strong field over the final hurdles, posting a season-best 12.33, toppling the likes of Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico who was second in 12.38, Keni Harrison of the USA third in 12.44 while World champion Danielle Williams of Jamaica finished fourth in 12.47.

The victory brings a triumphant close to what has been a difficult summer for Amusan who is the world record holder in the event.

It would be recalled that weeks before the World Championships, Amusan was provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit AIU for whereabouts failures.

However, she was cleared by a disciplinary tribunal on the eve of the meet’s kickoff and unfortunately finished sixth in the 100m hurdle final in Budapest.
