The Commissioner of Police Enugu State Command, CP Ahmed Ammani, FDC, has emphatically reiterated that the Police shall never be deterred by the panic-causing and disinformative schemes of subversive criminal elements, hell-bent on inflicting physical, psychological, and socio-economic pains on their brothers and sisters, on the pretext of enforcing the illegal sit-at-home order in the State.

This followed the reports of panic and pandemonium observed in the morning hours of yesterday in some parts of the Enugu metropolis and beyond, due to false alarms and the circulation of fake news in the form of texts, pictures, and videos alleging shootings and attacks by miscreants enforcing the illegal order.

Ammani in a press release through the Police Public Relations officer DSP Daniel Ndukwe guaranteed the good people of the State of their unwavering commitment and other Security Forces to ensure the daily security and safety of citizens against the horrifying activities of the criminals, vowing that they will fish out and bring to book the creators and peddlers of the malicious and misleading information.

He urged citizens of the State to be mindful of and disregard such malevolent schemes of the miscreants, which have over time become their stock-in-trade, and to always, remain vigilant and law-abiding, as they go about their lawful businesses while reporting the rebellious criminal elements and their activities to the nearest Police Station.
