Councilors in the 260 electoral wards in Enugu State have assured the Governor of Enugu State Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi that they will work round the clock and mobilize massively in their respective wards to deliver the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and its candidates in the 2023 general election.

The councilors, in their Thank-you visit to Ugwuanyi at the Government House, yesterday unanimously declared their support for him, the governorship candidate of the PDP in the state, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and all other candidates of the party in the state.

They stressed their allegiance to him and expressed gratitude to him for the uncommon leadership role he played towards their emergence as councilors in their respective wards on the platform of the party, adding that if not for his magnanimity and selfless leadership style, none of them would have emerged as a councilor in the state.

Speaking on their behalf, the coordinator of 260 Ward Councilors in Enugu State and leader of Udenu Legislative Council, Nnamdi Odo, said that past councilors during previous administrations did not enjoy the privilege they enjoyed during the selection process leading to their emergence, stressing that they emerged without godfathers.

The Governor who appreciated the councilors for the solidarity and support, attributed their emergence as councilors to the will of God, thanking them for their contributions towards the peaceful atmosphere in Enugu State and reiterated his administration’s commitment to their well-being.
