FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PREDICTS INTENSE FLOODING IN SOME STATES.

The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu has warned that intense flooding would be experienced in some states in the next seven days following the opening of Lagdo Dam in Cameroon.

 

Edu gave the prediction yesterday when she hosted the Minister of Water Resources, Minister of Environment, as well as other stakeholders on ways to lessen the impact of the flooding in Nigeria, assuring Nigerians that shelters would be provided to residents in flood-prone states.

 

The National Emergency Management Agency NEMA was alerted over impending flooding along the River Benue Basin.
