The Governor of Imo State Hope Uzodimma has condemned the incessant attacks on offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in the state, describing them as politically forced.

The governor made the comment at the Imo Police Command Headquarters in Owerri yesterday in the aftermath of an attack on the INEC headquarters in the South-East state which led to five deaths.

The Commissioner of Police in Imo State Muhammed Barde also conveyed the sequence of events.

Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Imo State has raised eyebrows over Uzodinma’s statement describing it as irresponsible and shameful.

PDP in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Collins Opurozor, said the insecurity in Imo is simply and squarely a direct consequence of the disastrous failure of governance in the state under him.
