A Public affairs analyst, Chikeze Obasi, says the Nigerian presidential debate characteristically over the years, has shown that it is not the winner of the debate that comes out victorious on the Election Day.

Obasi , who was a guest on the Urban Radio’ flagship programme The Parliament, advised that going forward, the way to get the best out of  the presidential candidate is for journalists and media agencies to organize the debate under one single unbiased platform.

He also mentioned that the absence of some of the presidential candidates on the debate is of some worth strategic as the politicians usually map out the best way to reach the masses, noting that if they see that things like presidential debate which are not constitutionally bound, may not favor them, they will look for other means to best maximize their opportunities.

Adonis, from Ebonyi state, who called in on the programme, stressed on the importance of the presidential debate as it helps the electorates to know how prepared the aspirants are to lead the country.
