The People’s Democratic Party PDP has canceled the Etsako Central ward delegates election in Edo State over the alleged kidnap of nine electoral officers.

The PDP chairman in the State Tony Aziegbemi who stated this when he spoke with newsmen in Benin yesterday said the decision was taken by Governor Peter Mbah led delegates congress committee, but said the cancellation would not affect the February 22 PDP governorship primaries.

Aziegbemi said the decision was in the best interest of the party, noting that, the number of delegates in Etsako Central was 31, while the total number of delegates in the state was 594.

He urged aggrieved governorship aspirants of the party to approach the appeal panel for redress and to be cautious about the way they criticize the party as its image was being battered.
