The New President of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu says he has ended the era of fuel subsidy payment, stressing that it was no longer justifiable.

Tinubu during his inaugural speech at Eagle Square after his swearing-in said his government shall instead channel funds into infrastructure and other areas to strengthen the economy, while also promising a unified exchange rate under his administration.

The president also promised to remodel the economy to bring about growth as well as develop the Gross Domestic Product through job creation, assuring investors that multiple taxations will be reviewed to attract fresh foreign direct and local investments.

Tinubu later yesterday made his first set of appointments as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In the appointments, he named Kunle Adeleke as the State Chief of Protocol SCOP to the President, former Commissioner of Information in Lagos State Dele Alake as Presidential Spokesman, and Olusegun Dada Special Adviser, Digital Media.
