Uganda to Withdraw From 2023 Chan Tournament.

The president of Uganda Football Associations Moses Magogo has announced that the country will withdraw from the African Nations Championships Chan because of a row over government funding,

Magogo who is also a member of the Ugandan parliament said pulling out of the tournament which is scheduled to begin in Algeria on 13 January was sad.

He stated further that the sanctions on Uganda will affect the future if they don’t take the hard decision now, apologizing to players and coaches who qualified the team”

2023 Chan is due to feature 18 teams so if Uganda pulls out it will leave organizers of the Confederation of African Football CAF needing a replacement at short notice.
